Join COALESCE as a Hub!

A new opportunity has been announced for organisations to join the COALESCE network as a national and regional Hub.
Organisations based in Denmark, Finland, Greece, Norway, or Poland are being invited to submit an expression of interest in becoming a COALESCE Hub. COALESCE is a European Union-funded project creating a European Competence Centre for Science Communication. Currently, 23 organisations from 18 countries are active participants of the network of Hubs.
COALESCE is creating resources to support effective science communication which are being made available through the Competence Centre online platform. These resources are informed by research, including studies carried out as part of EU-funded Horizon 2020 SwafS-19 projects. In the future, the Competence Centre will also provide science communication training for a wide range of practitioners.
Through its activities, the Competence Centre is aiming to create a closer integration between science and society, grow science communication capacity across Europe and address contemporary challenges such as misinformation.
The COALESCE Hubs play a central role in this work – adapting materials and resources so they are relevant to the science communication communities in their countries and regions. They will also provide training on behalf of the Competence Centre.
“Becoming a COALESCE Hub is an opportunity to support science communicators and gain more recognition for the science communication field,” says Joana Magalhães at Science for Change, Barcelona, co-lead of COALESCE. “It’s also an opportunity to increase the profile of your organisation across Europe.”
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to become a COALESCE Hub open on 9 September 2025 and will close on 6 October 2025. EOI should be submitted in English using the link below. Only fully completed forms submitted before the deadline in English will be reviewed.
