SciComm meets deep tech in Riga

The importance of effectively communicating complex science was underlined at the Baltic’s largest deep tech event. Half a day at Deep Tech Atelier, which brought AI, quantum, defence and space entrepreneurs, scientists and investors to Latvia’s capital Riga, was dedicated to science communication.

Competence Centre welcomes new Hubs to the team

Five new National & Regional Hubs have joined the European Competence Centre for Science Communication - adding to this growing network. The Hubs are respected organisations working in science communication located across Europe which will play a vital role in shaping and implementing the work of the Competence Centre.

Hubs generate ideas to strengthen science communication in times of crisis

Finding ways to communicate science more effectively when a crisis is causing havoc is one of the biggest challenges facing science communication – something the COVID-19 pandemic brought into sharp focus. Polarisation, disinformation and the blurring of boundaries around who has relevant expertise all combine to make dealing with a crisis more challenging.
