3… 2… 1… Competence Centre has been launched

A new look and upgraded version of the European Competence Centre for Science Communication online platform has been launched. The new version of the website provides users with a tool that allows them to connect more easily with other professionals in the field, with scientists, artists and others who can support their work. The new-look platform will also allow users to connect with others to form new partnerships and collaborative projects, once they are registered. Anyone who communicates science in any form, along with scientists and those who work in related fields, is invited to add their profiles.
We have also recently welcomed five new COALESCE Hubs, bringing the total number to 27, representing 22 countries across Europe. You’ll find more about the new organisations coming from Denmark, Finland, Greece, Norway, and Poland below. Let’s welcome them!
In this issue, you will also find our first SciComm Note providing succinct insights into communicating science using different senses. Our first Note is on Sight and assembles research on visual approaches in science communication, pointing out the strengths, weaknesses, impacts, and potential gaps in knowledge. We hope you can use it when preparing your science communication activities.
Before you leave, listen to the latest SciComm Conversations under the topic: “Climate education through online narrative games”, with our guest Dr Lynda Dunlop, senior lecturer and Director of Education for Environmental Sustainability at the University of York.
